According to reports from the French media on Sunday, the PSG ultras are now going ahead to boycott the Trophees des Champions clash against RC Lens.

In just seven days time from now, PSG will get their domestic season underway in the Trophees des Champions against Coupe de France winners, RC Lens, four days after the UEFA Super Cup against Aston Villa.

The clash with Villa is set to take place in a neutral venue in the Austrian city of Salzburg. However, the Trophees des Champions game will not take place on neutral ground, with the game instead being played at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis, home of Lens themselves.

This has lead to a lot of frustration from PSG supporters, who believe that this game should be played at a neutral stadium, such as the Stade de France or somewhere similar to that.

Owing to such disappointment at this decision, according to French journalist, Arthur Perrot of RMC Sport, the club's ultra group - Collectif Ultras Paris - have decided to boycott the game, in order to make sure their voices are heard, and, ideally, to make sure this does not happen again.

Additionally, the CUP believe that the organisers have not allocated the number of seats at the stadium fairly, essentially meaning that Lens will have more fans at the game despite it not being an official home game for them, as well as the better seats in the ground too.

Well, fair play to them indeed. It can't be easy to miss your team play a game, so it shows just how strongly they feel about it. It is great to see they have some backbone to them, and will make a stance no matter what.

Interestingly, there is a similar example of this. On the 22nd of August, Bayern Munich will play Borussia Dortmund in the Franz Beckenbauer German Super Cup, with the game being played at the home of Dortmund. This is despite the fact that Bayern won both the Bundesliga and the DFB Pokal, with Dormtund being invited as the team that finished second in the league.

This has also lead to frustration within the Bayern fanbase, particularly as Dortmund did not even win the Pokal (whilst Lens won the Coupe de France). We know that the ultras group of Bayern can be quite outspoken themselves, so it will be interesting to see if they take any action regarding that. They will often hold up banners calling out the DFB (German FA), when decisions such as this are made, so let's see.
