PSG goalkeeper Alessandro Longoni is out with a quadriceps injury and missed Italy U-19's matches during the international break. PSG has not commented on his injury.

Having arrived at PSG on a free transfer this summer from AC Milan, Alessandro Longoni is the third-choice goalkeeper in the first-team squad, behind Matvey Safonov, the undisputed starter, and Lucas Chevalier, who hasn't played an official match since January.

The promising 18-year-old Italian goalkeeper has been on the bench only once in an official first-team match so far, against Lille in the second round of Ligue 1, but Luis Enrique has called him up several times, with him serving as the 21st man in the stands (against Lens and Rennes).

In any case, Longoni is not expected to play for PSG's first team in the short term, as he is currently playing mainly with the reserve team.

He started against Crystal Palace on September 2nd in the Premier League International Cup, but felt discomfort in his left quadriceps during the match, which subsequently ruled him out of the Champions League match against Bratislava.

PSG's Alessandro Longoni to Miss 3 Italy U-19 Matches

Called up to the Italian U19 national team on September 17th to play in a friendly tournament in Croatia during the international break, with three matches scheduled, Longoni was quietly replaced two days later by his coach, Massimiliano Favo.

The Italian Football Federation did not specify the reason for the replacement, stating only on its website that Longoni was unavailable.

According to the website MondoPrimavera, which specializes in young Italians, Longoni is injured, so he did not participate last Friday in Italy U19's 2-1 victory against France U19, which featured Lucas Batbedat, David Boly, and Adam Ayari, who also scored the only French goal.

PSG has not commented on Longoni's injury, despite announcing his call-up to the U19 national team on September 17th and his injury during the match against Crystal Palace.

Longoni is, in any case, the second PSG international to have been unable to honor his call-up this September, after Warren Zaïre-Emery, who was initially called up by Zinedine Zidane to the French national team but replaced by Maghnes Akliouche after suffering a minor injury to his left thigh during the match against Marseille on September 20th.

Young keepers often need patience in their careers. It's rare for young goalies to be starters on any team, so they're usually asked to wait for their opportunities. Longoni will therefore have to be patient to earn regular chances and prove his worth. Let's see how things go for this talented player.
