Fresh off a dominant domestic campaign, PSG are dominating the global award shortlists, as individual stars and the gaffer vie for football’s most prestigious year-end honours.

Last season was another extremely successful campaign for PSG, who managed to retain their Ligue 1 and UEFA Champions League titles.

As a result, it has been reported in the media that the club are set to have 10 players in the list of 30 Ballon d'Or nominees, a record for any one club in a single season.

But it is not just those 10 players that have been recognised for their efforts. Indeed not, in fact there is plenty for us to get our teeth into, so let's do that.

To begin with, goalkeeper Matvey Safonov has been for the Yashin award, given to best goalkeeper of the year, alongside the following players;

David Raya (Arsenal, Spain), Gregor Kobel (Borussia Dortmund, Switzerland), Yassine Bounou (Al Hilal, Morocco), Joan Garcia (Barcelona, Spain), Edouard Mendy (Al Alhi, Senegal), Unai Simon (Athletic Club, Spain), Thibaut Courtois (Belgium, Real Madrid), Vozinha (Chaves, now Colo-Colo, Cape Verde), and Emiliano Martinez (Aston Villa, now Chelsea, Argentina).

Meanwhile, Warren Zaire-Emery has bene nominated for the Young Talent of the Year, alongside these other names;

Kerim Alajbegovic (RB Salzburg, now Juventus, Bosnia & Herzegovina), Ayyoub Bouaddi (Lille, now Manchester City, Morocco), Pau Cubarsi (Barcelona, Spain), Yan Diomande (RB Leipzig, now Real Madrid, Ivory Coast), Lennart Kalr (Bayern Munich, Germany), Eli Junior Kroupi (AFC Bournemouth), Lamine Yamal (Barcelona, Spain), Johan Manzambi (Freiburg, now Aston Villa, Switzerland), and Ibrahim Maza (Bayer Leverkusen, Algeria).

In the dugout, Luis Enrique has been nominated for Coach of the Year, alongside these other managers;

Luis de la Fuente (Spain national team), Mikel Arteta (Arsenal), Unai Emery (Aston Villa), and Vincent Kompany (Bayern Munich). Four out of five of those managers are Spanish.

Then, to finish off with the collective, as PSG have been nominated for Team of the Year, alongside;

Arsenal (Premier League Champions, UEFA Champions League runners up), Bayern Munich (Bundesliga Champions, UEFA Champions League semi-finalists), Bodo/Glimt (Eliteserien runners up, UEFA Champions League round of 16), and Flamengo (Brazilian Serie A winners, Copa Libertadores winners).

So, there you have it. PSG and Enrique feel like strong winners of their respective areas, but it will be hard for Zaire-Emery and Safonov in particular to win their awards, you would have thought, but it is still a great achievement to be nominated in any case. Stay tuned here at Roundtable for more updates on all things Ballon D'or. You won't want to miss it.
