PSG's Senny Mayulu is out until late October with a left thigh injury suffered on France U21 duty against Estonia.

The France under-21 national team is playing the qualifying phase of the UEFA European U21 Championship, a competition where the young Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, Senny Mayulu, was present.

Although the young French team has stood out in most of its matches, the news that Senny Mayulu could be out for more than a month after an injury to his left thigh suddenly shook them.

The 20-year-old was called up by the France under-21 coach, Gerald Baticle, to play with the national team. Senny was only able to help the team in two matches, suffering an injury around the 12th minute in the match against Estonia (0-2).

His absence raised alarms, especially because it was not known how much time he would be out of the field of play, but PSG has already issued an official medical statement in which they confirm that he will be sidelined and will be in recovery until the end of October.

"After suffering an injury to his left thigh while playing for France U21 versus Estonia on Tuesday night, Senny Mayulu will be sidelined and receiving treatment for the coming weeks."

Although he did not have a good start to the season with PSG, Senny Mayulu is one of Luis Enrique's Swiss Army knives, as in recent months he has played in different positions, including in midfield, as a left winger, as a false 9, and even as a right back.

During the 2025-26 season, Mayulu made 46 appearances for PSG, scored 7 goals, and provided 5 assists. These appearances came in Ligue 1, the Trophee des Champions, the Coupe de France, the Champions League, the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, and the Club World Cup.

Mayulu earned the respect of the fans after scoring PSG’s fifth and final goal in that 2025 UEFA Champions League final against Inter Milan.

Since then, Luis Enrique has gradually given him a more important role, and at just 20 years old, he is already an important player in Luis Enrique’s rotation, not only because of his quality but also because of his versatility.

Perhaps Mayulu needs a little more to make that jump from France's youth national team to the senior national team, which is now managed by Zinedine Zidane.

But without a doubt, at just 20 years old and already having two Champions League titles in his repertoire, he has the potential to do so. Let's hope he recovers soon.
