As PSG failed to win for the fourth straight game in all competitions, we take a look at what went wrong for Luis Enrique's side at home to AS Monaco in Ligue 1.
On Friday night, PSG fell to a 2-1 defeat in their first game at the Parc Des Princes since May. It was not the return home that anybody associated with the club was expecting or hoping for.
This result means that the team have managed to win just one of their five games of the season so far, the opening one against Aston Villa in the UEFA Super Cup. They have drawn two and lost two of the subsequent four games, and have just two points from their first three Ligue 1 games. And it could easily be 0 too.
So, what went wrong this time round?
First of all, it felt weird that, after two games with dropped points, Ousmane Dembele was on the bench. He had his rest against Lille, why can he not start in this game? That felt an odd choice.
Then, potential recruitment concerns. Even though Nuno Mendes was serving the final game of his suspension, there was no place in the squad for Lucas Digne, despite not being injured. Has Luis Enrique already rendered him a failed signing? Not ideal.
Warren Zaire-Emery has filled in admirably at right-back, but clearly left-back for him, as a right footed player, is a much more awkward fit. So it is a good job that Mendes' suspension is now over.
We touched on this earlier on in the week, but PSG look a bit predictable going forward at times. With Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye out the door, all of the pure pace in the front line has gone, and now there are a lot of similar, ball-to-feet profiles in the team. Which can lead to games like last night.
The chance creation must improve from open play too. It is easy to look at the stats from this game and say that it was just 'one of those nights', but a lot of the better chances came from set pieces. Which itself can be fine, but you don't want to be too stale in open play alongside it.
A lot of people say that PSG tend to start slowly, and catch fire in the second half of the season. Whilst there is some truth to that, for sure, it is not quite the same. For example, last season PSG won all four of their opening Ligue 1 games. 12 points from four. The maximum amount of points they can have after four games this season, is five.
