PSG is reportedly eyeing another Russian star. A young midfielder could join Matvey Safonov at the French capital.
Paris Saint-Germain will have plenty of work to do next summer in the transfer window. Luis Enrique could also green-light the arrival of a Russian gem.
Matvey Safonov may not be the only Russian at PSG next season. The French capital club is scouting the Russian league in order to strengthen during the next summer transfer window. Several profiles in the Premier Liga are of interest, including that of Aleksey Batrakov. The 20-year-old attacking midfielder is impressing with his talent and has been a key figure for Lokomotiv Moscow. He could take a major step forward in the coming weeks with a move to Luis Enrique's PSG.
According to Vladimir Kuzmichev, Aleksey Batrakov's representative, the European champions are indeed among the clubs interested in the Orekhovo-Zuyevo native. Still under contract with Lokomotiv until June 2029, the midfielder is valued at around 25 million euros -- a figure well within PSG's reach, even if the Moscow club could revise its demands upward.
Batrakov could be tempted by a move to France and a reunion with his compatriot Safonov. In Russia, the young talent cannot compete in European competitions. Discovering the Champions League within a fluid and already well-oiled team would therefore represent a major opportunity for him.
Furthermore, Luis Enrique particularly appreciates young, ambitious players who are eager to win titles and make history.
While waiting to learn more about his future, Batrakov must first finish the season with his club, currently third in the league but still in contention for the title. Lokomotiv Moscow is hoping to count on its young playmaker to chase a trophy -- which could further drive up his market value.
For their part, the player's camp has no desire to rush things. A departure will only be considered if a solid sporting project presents itself, with guarantees in terms of playing time and development.
