PSG and Luis Enrique have been handed an injury blow to contend with ahead of next week's UEFA Champions League second leg with Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena

On Tuesday evening, PSG beat Bayern Munich 5-4 in an absolutely mouthwatering first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi final tie, in what has been dubbed as "the final before the final".

Luis Enrique's side showed once again just how clinical they are, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembele proving again that they are two of the best finishers in world football. Meanwhile, Joao Neves proves to be unbelievable in the air for someone of his stature.

It was not a perfect night, however. For seven minutes in the second half, the Parisians had a three goal advantage, and were on the verge of killing the tie in the first leg. However, they let the visitors back into the game with another two goals of their own, and it is now all to play for in Germany next week.

Well, it appears as if things have now got even more complicated. Indeed, as French journalist Fabrice Hawkins is reporting that Achraf Hakimi has been ruled out of the second leg with the hamstring injury he picked up in the closing stages of the game.

He states that the Moroccan international's World Cup hopes are not in doubt, and he would be fit for a potential CL final, should PSG qualify, but he will not be at Enrique's disposal at the Allianz Arena.

Furthermore, Hawkins reported that Lucas Chevalier is also ruled out of the second leg, with a right thigh injury sustained in training this (Tuesday) morning. With all due respect, a much less costly casualty than that of Hakimi.

Well, it will certainly be interesting to see what Enrique does to combat this. Senny Mayulu has filled in there before, whilst Marquinhos played at right-back a lot earlier in his PSG career.

At international level, Neves has played there before, though did have a nightmare there in the UEFA Nations League semi final back in June. The most likely option will be Warren Zaire-Emery there, with Fabian Ruiz making up the midfield with Neves and Vitinha.

Certainly not optimal, particularly with Bayern left winger Luis Diaz having such a good season. However, Zaire-Emery has played well there in the past, and he is a player with physical capabilities, despite being such a young age. It could be worse. Let's see how it goes.

Considering the injury absences for Vincent Kompany's side, things could be worse on the injury front.
