Fabian Ruiz's prolonged absence sparks growing internal frustration at PSG, per reports.

Absent from the squad against Toulouse this past weekend, Fabian Ruiz is once again unavailable for the home leg of the Champions League quarterfinal, a situation that is beginning to irritate people within PSG.

Off the field since the away match at Sporting Portugal on Jan. 20, Fabian Ruiz is taking an eternity to return. With the World Cup just weeks away, the Spanish international is starting to give Paris Saint-Germain the impression that he is managing himself to make sure he does not miss the tournament with La Roja. Very close to a return against Toulouse last weekend, the former Napoli midfielder ultimately missed the match.

He is also not in the squad for the home first leg against Liverpool this Wednesday in the Champions League quarterfinals.

Frustration is beginning to build within the Parisian hierarchy, as the PSG medical staff can no longer see anything in the scans of Fabian Ruiz's knee that would prevent him from returning to training and competition. Enough to cause a real problem internally, as Loic Tanzi pointed out on L'Equipe de Greg on L'Equipe du Soir.

"He says and repeats that as long as he is in pain, he does not want to play. At the slightest hint of pain, he does not even want to train. Last week, we thought he was going to come back against Toulouse and then play against Liverpool. That was not the case. Luis Enrique says everyone is happy, but at the club, some people are not. Looking at the scans, there is nothing there anymore. It is only the player's own feelings, and right now, he does not feel ready to train. This case is extremely unclear. We were told last week that he was capable of playing against Toulouse. He has a knee issue, but nobody knows exactly what it is," analyzed the L'Equipe journalist, who is very well-informed on Paris Saint-Germain and is wondering when Fabian Ruiz will return to the field.

Very vague on the subject at his news conference, Luis Enrique simply explained that "when a player is injured, you have to wait and feel how the player feels." A patience that may be more show than substance, and one that risks not lasting much longer if Fabian Ruiz extends his stay in the treatment room for too long.
