PSG is reportedly eyeing Brighton's star keeper. The French capital club faces heavy competition.

Determined to strengthen the goalkeeper position in the next transfer window, PSG is reportedly very interested in Bart Verbruggen.

The transfer of Lucas Chevalier to Paris Saint-Germain is, for now, a flop, and it is urgent for the French capital club to correct course in the next transfer window.

A departure of the French international is already in the pipeline -- though that will not benefit Matvey Safonov. The Russian is having a fine season, but PSG does not envision him as a long-term starter. Luis Campos is therefore searching for his next goalkeeper, and one name in particular appeals to him.

According to journalist Ekrem Konur and several media outlets, the reigning French champion is interested in Verbruggen, 23. The Dutch international has established himself as one of the best at his position in the Premier League.

Under contract with Brighton until 2028, he is valued at around 40 million euros by the specialized website Transfermarkt. Beyond PSG, many of Europe's biggest clubs are also interested in Bart Verbruggen.

Inter Milan is in pole position, but Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain all intend to try their luck, complicating matters for the Nerazzurri. It remains to be seen whether this will be a priority for PSG or whether Luis Campos is simultaneously exploring other options.

Last week, the names of Elia Caprile (Cagliari), Anatoliy Trubin (Benfica), Diogo Costa (FC Porto), and Gregor Kobel (Borussia Dortmund) had also been mentioned alongside the Brighton goalkeeper.

For the reigning European champion, making the right choice next summer will be crucial -- one year after completely misjudging the decision to bet on Lucas Chevalier to replace Gianluigi Donnarumma, whose contract was not renewed and who ultimately headed to Manchester City. In this matter, Parisian coach Luis Enrique will, of course, have his say.

The former FC Barcelona coach has made it clear that he wants to bring in a young goalkeeper who is comfortable with the ball at his feet -- which was not the case with Gianluigi Donnarumma, the main reason for the Italian's departure last summer.
