Liverpool has reportedly ended its pursuit of PSG's Bradley Barcola and turned its attention to a different forward, per reports.

Very interested in Bradley Barcola to succeed Mohamed Salah, Liverpool could finally abandon the pursuit of the PSG attacker in favor of Nico Williams.

A major player in the summer transfer window in Europe last summer, Liverpool should once again be very active in the coming weeks. The Reds will notably have the mission of replacing Mohamed Salah, whose departure was confirmed a few weeks ago.

The squad could also be shaken up in the event of Arne Slot's dismissal, whose retention as head of the team depends on Liverpool's qualification for the Champions League. To compensate for the upcoming departure of Salah, the Reds have considered Bradley Barcola, who is under contract with PSG until June 2028.

But the Mersey club knows that it will be difficult to convince the French international, and even more so the capital club. This is why, according to Fichajes, Liverpool has been exploring another more accessible trail in La Liga for several weeks.

The current 4th-place team in the Premier League has set its sights on Nico Williams. Despite a long contract that runs until 2035 with Athletic Bilbao, the 23-year-old Spanish winger is likely to move in the event of an offer from a top European club.

Liverpool knows this, which is why the reigning English champions are targeting the left-winger who won the Euro with Spain. The media outlet reports a possible $87 million offer from Liverpool to Athletic Bilbao to secure the services of the Spanish international (30 caps).

A significant amount, but insufficient in the eyes of the Basque club, which is counting on Williams in the future and will not negotiate below his release clause, which stands at nearly $131 million.

After a frenetic transfer window last summer with more than $436 million spent, will Liverpool agree to give in to Bilbao's demands? This case could, in any case, do the business of Paris Saint-Germain, whose executives would be very happy to see Liverpool move away from Barcola at a time when discussions have still not resulted in an agreement to extend the former Lyon player's contract in the capital.
