Despite an endless season, Achraf Hakimi once again delivered a top-level performance during PSG's emphatic victory against Real Madrid. The right-back praised the Parisian side's great win.
Once again a starter, this time against Real Madrid in the Club World Cup, Achraf Hakimi put in a splendid performance during PSG's 4-0 semifinal victory against the Merengues.
The Moroccan international provided the decisive assist for Fabián Ruiz's second goal, proving crucial yet again in a Paris Saint-Germain match.
Speaking to DAZN microphones after this great triumph, PSG's number 2 highlighted his team's excellent performance:
"We're more relaxed after the victory. We deserve it, we made an incredible effort. With the heat, the match wasn't easy. Plus, we were facing a team with great players. We did a magnificent job," he began.
"Why did Real Madrid let me leave? That was their decision. I'm happy; they allowed me to do what I love: play and enjoy," said the Moroccan when questioned about his Madrid past.
"The coach (Luis Enrique) has given me his trust, the freedom to occasionally play in midfield, to stay wide, but also to defend - something essential for my position," he added about his role on the pitch.
"I know that with teammates like Marquinhos or João, who do excellent work... When I push forward, they cover for me, and that balances things out. That gives me peace of mind to help the attackers. I'm very happy and really enjoying myself with this team," he concluded.
