Vitinha reflected on sharing the pitch with PSG legend Marco Verratti, called the midfielder a "magician" and praised his complete game.

Considered the successor of Marco Verratti at Paris Saint-Germain, Vitinha praised the Italian in an interview with France Bleu Paris, highlighting all the qualities of the player with whom he shared the field during a season.

The 2022-23 PSG season is not particularly remembered, with Christophe Galtier at the helm of the first team and an unbalanced squad, but in the middle of that, it had two of the most impactful midfielders in the history of the club.

Verratti was living his last season in Paris, also his least good one, while Vitinha arrived at PSG at 22 years old, with all the difficulties that the adaptation of a young player entails.

The duo formed by the two midfielders was a pre-season promise that was not consolidated over time, but Vitinha praised his former teammate in an interview with France Bleu Paris.

"It was a pleasure, it was a privilege to share the field with him. I consider myself young, but back then, I was even younger. I had just arrived, and playing in the midfield with him was truly a privilege," said the Portuguese.

The now best midfielder in the world, third place in the 2025 Ballon d'Or, later highlighted Verratti's quality.

"He is a 100% complete midfielder, he had everything: he had defense, he had attack, he had vision, he had technique. He was a total midfielder. I really liked playing with him. I felt that we complemented each other very well, too," said Vitinha.

"It's a shame we couldn't play more together, but I was very happy to share the field with him. He is a magician, a great midfielder," he added.
