Some already consider it the match of the century. On Tuesday night in the Champions League, PSG and Bayern Munich engaged in a true boxing match in the first leg of the semifinal. Author of a solid performance, Ousmane Dembele took the opportunity to surpass Kylian Mbappe.

A big match requires Dembele, 28, to deliver. The 2025 Ballon d'Or winner showed up decisively on Tuesday night at the Parc des Princes in the Champions League semifinal first leg.

At the end of a historic match won by the capital club (5-4), Dembele also left his mark on the match. The French international scored a brace after delivering a corner onto Joao Neves' head to give the capital club the lead in the first half. The former Rennes player also did not falter, scoring the penalty in the break just before halftime.

With his two goals and his assist, Dembele has become the most decisive player in Paris Saint-Germain's history in the Champions League knockout stages (18). The former Barcelona player surpasses Kylian Mbappe (17). A statistic revealed by the X account (formerly Twitter) Stats Foot.

The 2025 Ballon d'Or winner now has 11 goals and seven assists in this stage of the competition compared to 14 goals and three assists for Mbappe. A scorer against Chelsea in the round of 16, Dembele was also decisive against Liverpool in the second leg of the quarterfinal. At Anfield, the French international scored a brace to secure qualification for the semifinals for the capital club.

At 28 years old, after 130 matches in the Parisian jersey, Dembele has tallied 59 goals and 41 assists with the European champion. Now, on to the return leg at the Allianz Arena next Wednesday. Luis Enrique will once again need his attacking trio to try to qualify for a second consecutive Champions League final.
