PSG transfer target Bernardo Silva is 80% likely to join Barcelona this summer, according to reports. He's willing to take a pay cut.

The potential departure of Marc Casado from Barcelona will allow for the signing of a replacement, and Manchester City star and Portuguese national team player Bernardo Silva is a potential candidate. Although PSG might have a say.

Last month, Silva, 31, confirmed his departure from Manchester City at the end of his contract, reigniting discussions about a possible transfer to FC Barcelona, while he is also being courted by PSG, according to reports.

The Catalans have long admired the player, and his agent, Jorge Mendes, who is close to being elected president, Joan Laporta, has already offered him to them.

Silva prefers Barcelona and is therefore willing to reduce his salary to facilitate his transfer. As a result, his chances of joining the Camp Nou this summer are estimated at 80%, according to Tuttosport (h/t Mundo Deportivo). A preliminary agreement has already been reached between the two parties, although some details remain to be resolved.

The crucial missing detail is the green light from Hansi Flick. The Barcelona coach has not yet approved the potential arrival of the Manchester City midfielder, as he wants to focus on the essentials and not deal with extra-sporting issues until the Catalans have won the Spanish league title, which will be the case on Sunday if Real Madrid fails to beat Espanyol.

The potential arrival of Silva would be completely logical for Barcelona, as he would bring valuable experience to a young locker room.

However, it is imperative that his arrival does not compromise the club's plans, which include investing heavily in a new central defender and a striker, two positions that are its priorities for the summer transfer window.
