Liverpool bench Salah in a surprise formation shift for their Champions League quarterfinal clash against PSG.

In the Champions League quarterfinal first leg, the official starting lineups for PSG vs. Liverpool have just been revealed, and the surprises are on Liverpool's side, with Salah on the bench.

With kickoff for this quarterfinal first leg, UEFA has just unveiled the official starting lineups for PSG vs. Liverpool, and Luis Enrique included no surprises in his starting XI -- meaning it is indeed Desire Doue who will occupy the right flank of the attack, with Dembele through the middle and Kvaratskhelia on the left.

As for the rest of PSG's lineup, Safonov will be in goal, protected by Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho and Nuno Mendes from right to left. In midfield, no surprises either, with the expected starting roles for Vitinha in front of the defense, alongside Joao Neves and Warren Zaire-Emery one step higher up.

On Liverpool's side, the lineup set to face PSG tonight is not quite the one reported by the day's press, and the biggest surprise is what appears to be a three-man defense, with Joe Gomez alongside Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk.

As expected, Kerkez occupies the left flank, while the right will go to Frimpong. In midfield, Gravenberch, Mac Allister, and Szoboszlai are paired together, while the attack is entrusted to Wirtz and Ekitike. To general surprise, Mo Salah is therefore on the bench for this first leg, with UEFA suggesting a possible 4-5-1 on their side rather than the 3-5-2 reported by the English press.
