Ousmane Dembele's classy reaction to being substituted in PSG's UCL semifinal win over Bayern has gone viral, highlighting the contrast with Kylian Mbappe's past behavior.
The collective is constantly highlighted at PSG, and Ousmane Dembele showed it again on Wednesday in Munich. The complete opposite of what happens in the teams where Kylian Mbappe plays.
PSG is not just a team capable of scoring at any moment and keeping the ball for long minutes. The capital club showcased its qualities of combativeness, generosity, and solidarity to go get a draw against Bayern Munich and qualify for the Champions League final. Luis Enrique did not hesitate to make strong choices to help his team as best he could.
Taking Ousmane Dembele out around the hour mark was clearly one of them. The Ballon d'Or winner, author of PSG's only goal of the match, was less effective after the break. And while Desire Doue is often the player substituted at that moment to bring on Bradley Barcola, the former Lyon player instead replaced the Parisian forward.
And in many social media messages, everyone was impressed to see that Dembele showed no sign of disappointment or annoyance. He high-fived his replacement, Luis Enrique, the coaching staff, and members of the bench, before continuing to encourage his teammates to go get this new final.
The behavior of the former Rennes player was highlighted on social media as exemplary. Especially since the comparative photo of Mbappe, who, for example, blasted Thomas Tuchel for substituting him too early to his liking and then sulked, is very damning.
"Luis Enrique and Thomas Tuchel have ultimately won the Champions League without Mbappe, while Mbappe has still not won the Champions League," summarizes the British media outlet The Touchline.
Enough to further annoy Real Madrid fans, some of whom believe that the French striker is the reason why the White House has not succeeded in the last two seasons.
