Roc Nation’s erratic demands and unresolved image rights disputes have stalled RB Leipzig star Yan Diomande’s €100 million move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Paris Saint-Germain are set to face a transfer obstacle as RB Leipzig superstar Yan Diomande's agency lays down chaotic terms.
According to an update by journalist Romain Molina (via Le10Sport), Yan Diomande's agency Roc Nation have reportedly asked for "everything opposite" to PSG's offer for the signing of the player from RB Leipzig this summer.
The French reporter said, "They (the agency) have managed to turn what looked like a simple deal (Diomandé) into absolute chaos by demanding everything and its opposite, with a whole host of different people involved. All this while neglecting to settle the various legal procedures concerning image rights or with his former agents..."
Roc Nation are yet to deal with Diomande's previous agents to sort his image rights, and these bureaucratic details need to be ironed out before any transfer proceeding reaches its final stage.
Paris Saint-Germain will certainly be looking to get the Ivory Coast star smoothly without any last-minute interferences. However, this new internal situation in the part of the player's entourage has stalled transfer talks.
Work goes on behind the scenes to clear the 19-year-old's pathway to other clubs in the future, and it remains to be seen whether any of this "chaos" actually affects his potential signing for Luis Enrique's side.
PSG sporting director Luis Campos is still in contact with the Bundesliga side to facilitate Diomande's arrival at the club, but a gap remains that is preventing the two clubs from reaching an agreement. More than 100 million euros is expected to be put on the table by the French capital team as transfer fees, along with certain conditions that would help Die Roten Bullen benefit from their player in the future.
If the transfer goes through, PSG will be signing their third most expensive target after Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. Due to the high value of the teenage sensation, Les Rouge-et-Bleu are not facing any stiff competition from other clubs till now, but a prolonged bureaucratic delay could introduce newer faces in the race.
Diomande was called up by Côte d'Ivoire head coach Emerse Faé for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He started in his nation's World Cup opener versus Ecuador, which ended in a 1-0 victory, as he took the MOTM award home. He also became the youngest footballer ever in the history of his country at the tournament.
Talks are expected to progress between PSG and RB Leipzig in the coming days, and a solution will be forged out.
