Gianluca Di Marzio says there is 'no chance' that Khvicha Kvaratskhelia or Bradley Barcola will leave PSG this summer, despite interest from Arsenal and Liverpool.
PSG wants to strengthen its squad this summer, but will also have to avoid certain major departures. Bradley Barcola and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia are involved.
PSG has the opportunity to make a little more history in soccer in the coming days if it wins the Champions League final against Arsenal.
The entire squad of the capital club is more focused than ever on this objective. Then will come the time to take stock and, for some players, to think about their future. PSG does not want to revolutionize its squad this summer, but wants to keep players fully invested in Luis Enrique's project.
In recent weeks, rumors of departures have circulated regarding Kvaratskhelia and Barcola. But the two players should not leave the club.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, in comments given to AceOdds, Parisian supporters have nothing to worry about. The Georgian is fully integrated into the club and feels fulfilled under Luis Enrique's orders.
Regarding Barcola, he is considered an important player for PSG despite his playing time sometimes falling short of expectations. There is little chance, therefore, of seeing the French champions open the door to a departure to England. The former Lyon player is still in discussions to extend his contract.
"I don't think there is any chance that Kvaratskhelia will leave PSG, because he arrived a year and a half ago and he has a very high salary. He is in a very big club, a very big team, in an excellent dynamic. So I don't see any possibility of him leaving at this time," Di Marzio said.
He added, "I also don't think PSG wants to sell Barcola and part with a player appreciated by Luis Enrique. It's true that he doesn't play much because of competition with Kvaratskhelia and Doué, but Barcola remains one of PSG's best players. I don't think the club will sell any of these players. I don't believe the transfer rumors on this subject at this stage."
Barring a major turnaround, PSG should therefore not part with these two major players. Arsenal and Liverpool will therefore have to explore other options. If Paris does not seem to be considering recruiting an additional winger, the situation could be different at striker, as Julian Alvarez is appreciated by Luis Enrique.
