Liverpool is monitoring PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier as a potential replacement for Alisson, according to reports. The Frenchman has not played since Jan. 23.

Arriving last summer at PSG to succeed Gianluigi Donnarumma, Lucas Chevalier could already pack his bags. Blocked by Matvey Safonov, the former Lille player is on Liverpool's radar.

Chevalier certainly believed he would take a huge step forward by signing with PSG, the most important club in France and a recent Champions League winner.

However, the native of Calais saw his adventure turn into a nightmare even though he had the full confidence of Luis Enrique. The Spanish coach appreciated his profile and pushed for his recruitment, but ultimately backtracked, leaving him definitively on the bench.

Author of poor matches in January, notably against Sporting CP in the Champions League and against Paris FC in the French Cup, Chevalier has not played again since Jan. 23, in favor of a more reassuring Matvey Safonov.

In the next transfer window, he will not be held back if a sufficiently attractive offer comes in, which interests Liverpool.

Indeed, according to journalist Ekrem Konur, Liverpool is closely monitoring Chevalier's situation. The Reds are considering recruiting him after the opening of the next summer transfer window to fill the expected departure of their goalkeeper, Alisson. The former Lille player is not the only one on the Mersey club's shortlist, however, as other profiles are also being studied.

The advantage, however, of the French international is undeniably his tense situation with PSG. If he understands that he will not be able to get more playing time under Luis Enrique's orders next season, then there is a good chance that he will definitely leave France to find another project elsewhere.

A project that will allow him to truly progress in a big club environment, still with the aim of regaining a more important place in the French national team.
