A Manchester City insider has made a claim about Bradley Barcola after his explosive World Cup display against Senegal. The PSG winger is seen as a good replacement for Savinho at the Etihad.
Author of an explosive substitute appearance against Senegal, Bradley Barcola is now attracting interest from the most prestigious European clubs. Even though the player is under contract with PSG, his price is skyrocketing, and Paris must face clubs for whom money is no problem.
The Bradley Barcola saga has generated many rumors since the end of the season, with the former Lyon player seeming hesitant to extend his current contract with PSG.
Besides a salary lower than some of the club's stars, $7.9 million, the 23-year-old winger, nevertheless, especially regrets not being an undisputed starter in Luis Enrique's eyes. A situation he also knows with the French national team, even if his appearance against Senegal on Tuesday night could clearly change things.
Replacing a ghostly Dembele, Barcola lit up the match and scored a magnificent goal. Naturally, the rumors have resurfaced, and many European clubs are interested in offering him a starting spot. That is notably the case for Manchester City, which even has a role already prepared for the former Lyon player.
A very influential figure among Cityzens fans, Steven McInerney believes that Barcola is the perfect player to replace Savinho, which is indeed the rumor circulating at the Etihad.
"Can't believe I've had people telling me that Barcola can't finish when talking about him as a possible Savinho replacement. Give me a break. He's on another level entirely than Savinho as a finisher. Can improve, sure, but he'd obviously be a huge upgrade on that front," the insider explains.
The idea of reuniting the Lyon duo of Barcola-Cherki is clearly in the air at Manchester City, with Enzo Maresca being well aware of the Parisian winger's talent.
For now, the Barcola case is on hold at PSG, with Luis Campos and Luis Enrique not intending to disturb the players who have gone to play in the 2026 World Cup. But if Barcola continues to deliver performances like the one against Senegal, it could quickly become a hot topic in the capital.
Currently tied until 2028 with the two-time European champions, the Parisian winger's price is estimated at $87 million, but that could go much higher if France goes far in the tournament.
It’s hard to imagine PSG letting Barcola go in order to sign another forward. Any name that has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain in recent weeks is directly competing with Barcola’s level when he is given the necessary minutes and opportunities. We’ll see what happens because the rumors keep multiplying.
