Barcelona has no chance of signing Julian Alvarez due to the high cost, Marca reports. PSG has a clear path to sign the Atletico Madrid star for over $109M.

Very interested in signing Julian Alvarez; PSG has a clear path. Also in the race, Barcelona has almost no chance of finalizing the deal, as it is deemed too expensive for the Catalan club.

PSG will not go through a second summer without touching its offensive line. Despite the team's incredible results, having qualified for a second consecutive Champions League final, the Parisian club knows it must regenerate part of the squad.

This notably concerns the attack, especially since some key players have only two years left on their contracts. This is the case, for example, with Ousmane Dembele and Bradley Barcola, the latter of whom could be sold to the Premier League if no extension beyond 2028 is agreed.

A departure of Barcola, or even Goncalo Ramos, would logically lead PSG to recruit in attack, with Alvarez, 26, as the priority. A very expensive case, estimated at more than $109 million, yet highly competitive. Barcelona also dreams of the Atletico Madrid Argentine.

Nevertheless, the Spanish champion is out of the race in this case, according to Spanish journalist Raúl Varela for Marca. "Barcelona does not have the means to sign Alvarez, unlike PSG. Paris absolutely wants to sign him," he said during a discussion on Atletico Madrid's summer transfer window.

The question now is whether PSG and the Colchoneros will agree on the price of Alvarez, whom the 4th-place team in La Liga values at $164 million.

To try to lower the transaction price, Paris is open to transferring one or two players to the Colchoneros. The names of Kang-in Lee and Ramos have already been leaked. The case, very complex in many ways, will take a long time to settle.

But with Barcelona out of the race, PSG could have a clear path. A non-negotiable advantage for Luis Campos when discussing with Atletico Madrid.
