PSG increases its offer for Zion Suzuki to €35M and could loan the Japanese keeper to Juventus. Parma set to accept improved bid.
Talks between PSG and Parma are speeding up over the transfer of Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki. Paris is said to have increased its offer while keeping the idea of immediately loaning him to Juventus, according to reports.
Suzuki’s move to PSG is becoming clearer. Interested in the 23-year-old Japanese keeper, the club from the French capital is said to have raised its offer in talks with Parma. While an initial bid of €28 million plus some add-ons was made a few days ago, the two-time defending European champion is now said to be ready to meet the Serie A club’s demands.
According to Italian media, particularly Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretto, Paris Saint-Germain is said to have made an offer of around €35m for the Japanese international goalkeeper, including bonuses. An amount that satisfies Parma and should seal the transfer.
Suzuki’s arrival at PSG appears to be separate from the competition between Matvey Safonov and Lucas Chevalier this season. The Japanese keeper, who wants playing time after a successful season and especially the World Cup, is expected to be loaned out immediately after arriving in Paris. Journalist Matteo Moretto says Suzuki could join Juventus for one year, with no option to buy.
The Old Lady is said to be delighted to have the Japanese goalkeeper, its Plan A in goal. After pulling out of the bidding war against Paris, Juve could still get Suzuki in a win-win deal.
“I like Suzuki a lot, but he has a very prohibitive cost,” Juve coach Luciano Spalletti had said, as recalled by Tuttosport. At one point, there was talk of Suzuki arriving in Paris and Chevalier being loaned to Juve. That rumour now seems unlikely.
Elsewhere, the last few hours have shown clear progress in the talks between Barcelona and PSG for Ferran Torres. According to Marca, confirmed by L'Equipe, the only scorer in the World Cup final will very soon be a PSG player.
Active in the transfer window since the start of the summer, Paris is now stepping up its pursuit of new signings.
In fact, the Torres saga is apparently nearing its end, with a happy outcome for the capital club. Looking for a versatile forward, particularly after the departure of Goncalo Ramos (AC Milan), the Paris club is said to be on the verge of signing Torres, with whom it is already believed to have an agreement.
That is what Marca are reporting and what L’Equipe, Le Parisien and other media are confirming.
