PSG are eyeing Bayer Leverkusen's Ibrahim Maza as a winter transfer target, with the French club reportedly interested in the 20-year-old attacking midfielder.

With months ahead of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's return, will PSG sign an attacking player in the next winter transfer window? Last Saturday, Luis Enrique was asked on the sidelines of PSG vs. Lyon.

"Do I want or need to sign attacking players? No, not especially," the Spaniard replied. "No injury is forcing us to sign. None! I said at the start of the season that we can stay calm even if there are two or three important injuries."

But as always, the PSG coach did not rule out the future and did not exclude a possible January reinforcement: "We remain attentive, as always, to the opportunity to sign new players. But not to make up for the injury, to strengthen the team. It is a responsibility to be attentive to the transfer market," he said.

Last week, L'Équipe revealed that PSG was considering signing a young, high-potential left winger this winter, even before the Georgian's injury. The outlet suggested, however, that Kvara's injury could paradoxically push PSG toward a different profile, without specifying whether it would be an older player or someone operating in another attacking role.

The answer may have come in recent hours from Germany, where Sky Sport says PSG is considering signing Algerian international Ibrahim Maza this winter. The 20-year-old attacking player, born in Berlin to an Algerian father and a German-Vietnamese mother, has been at Bayer Leverkusen since the summer of 2025 and is used primarily this season in the number 10 role in a 4-2-3-1.

But Ibrahim Maza is a very versatile player and also sometimes operates on the wings or even in midfield, as he did last season.

"I think the position where I feel most comfortable is the number 10 in the 4-2-3-1 formation we currently use," Ibrahim Maza recently told the Bundesliga's official website. "I can also play as a number 8 or a number 6, as well as on the left, where I have played several times, or on the right, more in an inverted winger role. I feel comfortable everywhere. I just want to do my job, whatever position I play."

That versatility is logically an asset for Maza regarding a future move to PSG, but the transfer still has to materialize. Also, according to Sky Sport, Bayer Leverkusen hopes to extend the contract of its Algerian international, which currently runs until 2030. But the German outlet does not expect an imminent agreement, especially since the player nicknamed "Mazadona" in Algeria is attracting a lot of interest.

Last summer, Manchester City had already expressed interest, according to that source, which says PSG is also very interested and has already informed the player's representatives of its intentions.

Sky Sport adds that PSG is considering a transfer as early as the winter window for the player, a move comparable to Florian Wirtz in Germany, who has scored 3 goals and provided 3 assists since the start of the season.

On Monday night, Ibrahim Maza was in London to attend the 2026 Ballon d'Or ceremony, having been nominated in the Young Talent of the Season category. He finished ninth (out of 10) in that category, which Lamine Yamal won again, while Warren Zaïre-Emery finished third.
