Yan Diomande is not ruling out staying at RB Leipzig next season despite a personal agreement with PSG. The €130M fee could be the sticking point.

Courted by PSG, with whom he has already reached a personal agreement, Yan Diomande is not ruling out staying at RB Leipzig next season, according to people close to the player. Meanwhile, the reigning two-time European champions have no intention of overpaying for the Ivory Coast international.

Will Yan Diomande become PSG's second signing of the summer transfer window after Alessandro Longoni? While The Athletic reported on June 28 that the RB Leipzig winger favored a move to PSG over Liverpool, the deal has cooled somewhat in recent days, although several sources have confirmed that the player has already agreed to a five-year contract with the French club -- a major step in the negotiations.

With that agreement in place, PSG appears to have the edge over Liverpool, although surprises are always possible during the transfer window. The main obstacle is now the transfer fee, as Leipzig continues to insist publicly that the player is not for sale. Privately, however, the German club has reportedly indicated that it would take €130 million to change its stance, a valuation PSG considers too high.

Negotiations have therefore intensified over the past few days, and according to L'Equipe, the Parisians remain in constant contact with Leipzig, a sign that the deal is still active. However, the French club is prepared to be patient and make Leipzig wait in the hope of securing the best possible deal—in other words, the lowest possible transfer fee.

While several reports claim Diomande does not want to spend another season at Leipzig and hopes to complete a transfer this summer, which could strengthen PSG's position, his former Leganés teammate Seydouba Cissé was less definitive on the matter.

"Right now, he's on vacation and says his agent is taking care of everything," Cisse told AS. "I asked him, 'Would you like to leave Leipzig for a club like Paris Saint-Germain?' He replied, 'If the two clubs reach an agreement, I'd really like that. But if not, I'll stay at Leipzig and play in the Champions League.'"

According to Bild, RB Leipzig has instructed Diomande to report for preseason training on July 22, three weeks after Ivory Coast's elimination from the 2026 FIFA World Cup. With the summer transfer window in France remaining open until Sept. 1, the Diomande saga could continue for several more weeks, with its outcome still difficult to predict. We will have to wait to see what happens.
