PSG has been unexpectedly linked to Newcastle United forward Anthony Gordon. The 25-year-old has 17 goals this season and is valued at over $100M.

Paris Saint-Germain will face Arsenal on May 30 in the Champions League final. In the meantime, the two clubs are already competing in the transfer market. They are among the long list of suitors for Anthony Gordon.

PSG has definitely proven that it is the best team in Europe right now. The Parisians qualified for their second consecutive Champions League final. A feat all the more impressive as it was achieved at the expense of Bayern Munich.

Luis Enrique's team looks like an unstoppable, foolproof machine. But that does not prevent Paris from seeking additional reinforcements next summer. Already at work, Luis Campos is notably targeting English winger Gordon, 25.

This is at least what TeamTalk reports. The Newcastle player had a superb season, scoring 17 goals across all competitions, including 10 in the Champions League.

Paris sees him as the successor to Bradley Barcola if the former Lyon player leaves in the summer transfer window, amid uncertainty on his status with the club. However, competition is fierce for the English international (17 caps).

In the Premier League, Gordon is in the sights of Liverpool and Arsenal. He is also on the radar of Bayern Munich in Germany and Barcelona in Spain.

Versatile, explosive, and effective in front of the goal, the 25-year-old would be a fine recruit for PSG. He would fit perfectly into Luis Enrique's tactical system. Nevertheless, his price is much less attractive than his intrinsic talent.

Newcastle is demanding 80 million pounds, or just over $100 million, to let Gordon go this summer. A huge sum for a transfer that is far from needed on the Parisian side.
