Real Madrid is eyeing PSG's Ousmane Dembele as contract extension talks stall in Paris, according to reports. Florentino Perez is ready to offer $164M for the Ballon d'Or winner.

Real Madrid may be jealous of PSG as they dream of recruiting one of Luis Enrique's key players. Ousmane Dembele has still not extended his contract in Paris, and Florentino Perez therefore believes the door is slightly open, per reports.

Used to winning the Champions League and having the biggest stars on the continent, Perez had a very bad 2025-26 season. Criticized internally, the Real Madrid president was forced to call new elections to see his power reaffirmed. His very offensive speech holds only one solution: change the coach and recruit numerous players to make Real Madrid a winning machine again.

Jose Mourinho will have the means to achieve his ambitions, and the transfer window promises to be spectacular. If the $164 million offer to bring in Julian Alvarez did not work, the White House keeps that envelope for PSG. Initially mentioned as joining Real Madrid, Vitinha and Joao Neves are untouchable, and Perez has understood that.

However, according to Turkish media TRT Spor, the Merengue boss wants to take advantage of the stagnant negotiations between Dembele and PSG to recruit the Ballon d'Or winner. Players who win this distinction have always had the gift of making Perez dream. A $164 million envelope remains available, and Real hopes PSG will accept it.

Because the former Rennes and Barcelona player still has two years left on his contract in Paris, he has not extended it, more than six months after negotiations began. A pause was made for the World Cup, but Luis Campos does not want to see discussions drag on, even if the French striker is reassuring.

During the celebrations for the Champions League double, Dembele confirmed his desire to stay and try to win a third European Cup now. And according to RMC, Dembele is expected to extend in Paris after the World Cup, but the Spanish club intends to try its luck as long as nothing is official.

Real Madrid, therefore, starts from very far behind, but still comfortable in his presidential seat, Perez hopes that his powers of seduction have not changed with the years. A reference to the time when, from Zidane to Owen, passing through Figo, Ronaldo, Kaka, and Cannavaro, the Ballon d'Or winners all ended up at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Dembele is a player who has gone through different moments in his career, some of them being very bad. With all the ups and downs he experienced at Barcelona, both in terms of injuries and performances, it would not make much sense for him to risk another move when he has finally found his best form and the system that benefits him the most in Paris.

It is not only about individual performances, because we have already seen that he won the Ballon d’Or once, and this year he is once again a contender, but it is also about everything he has achieved collectively: two UEFA Champions League titles with Paris Saint-Germain. At the moment, Real Madrid simply cannot offer him the same as PSG can.
