Tottenham and Aston Villa are competing to sign PSG outcast Lucas Chevalier. The French goalkeeper has not played since Jan. 20 and could leave this summer.
Demoted to the bench, Lucas Chevalier should leave PSG during the next summer transfer window. Fenerbahce, as well as several English clubs, would like to recruit the former Lille goalkeeper.
Arriving last summer for $44 million from Lille, he certainly did not expect this. However, since Jan. 20, we have completely lost track of Chevalier at PSG. The 24-year-old French international goalkeeper has seen Russian Matvey Safonov move ahead of him in the hierarchy drawn up by Luis Enrique.
The native of Calais is not even certain to be retained by Didier Deschamps to play in the 2026 World Cup with the French national team. Suffice it to say that the horizon has considerably darkened for Chevalier.
Today, two options are available to the goalkeeper. Either regain a starting spot for next season. Or take advantage of the summer transfer window to leave. Precisely, several European clubs have already inquired about securing his services.
According to the Turkish press and Fanatik, Fenerbahce would like to recruit Chevalier within a few weeks. The Istanbul giant already has Ederson in its ranks, but the former Manchester City player could join Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nasr in Saudi Arabia. Turkey is not necessarily a destination that excites Chevalier. But it could allow him to regain playing time, to relaunch his young career.
Another option, join the biggest league in the world, the English Premier League. Tottenham, on the verge of securing its survival, and Aston Villa, which is looking to ensure the succession of Argentine Emiliano Martinez, are potential landing spots. Let's see.
