PSG players return Dec. 30 for intense training, just days before their crucial 2026 derby clash. Get the inside scoop on their swift restart.

The day after the final match of 2025, Paris Saint-Germain has revealed its training restart date after the year-end holidays, and the Parisians will resume even before 2026.

Luis Enrique joked about it this Saturday evening during the press conference following the match against Vendee Fontenay Foot, the 67th and last of 2025: he did not know his team's training restart date after the holidays. It turns out his players will have roughly ten days of rest in total after a 2025 that was as legendary as it was grueling.

And the year 2025 is not completely over for the PSG players. Indeed, the resumption of training has been set for Tuesday, Dec. 30, in the late afternoon, necessarily at the Campus PSG. The Parisian players will even have one final training session on the 31st before being given rest on Thursday, Jan. 1.

The preparation for the first match of 2026, the major derby against Paris FC scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 4 at the Parc des Princes, will therefore truly begin on Friday, Jan. 2 and continue on Saturday, Jan. 3, a match eve marked by the first press conference of the year, which will likely delight the coach.

While most Parisian players will thus benefit from 10 (short) days of vacation, some were able to get a little extra, like Willian Pacho, who was released as early as this Friday and will therefore have a bit more time to absorb the transatlantic journey he must make to return home. Other long-haul travelers, Marquinhos and Lee Kang-in, were also exempted from the final match of 2025, the South Korean unfortunately being injured for several weeks.
