Despite injuries, Ousmane Dembele's elite scoring rate and upcoming major tournaments position him for a potential 2026 Ballon d'Or run.

Despite not having a season at the level of his previous campaign -- in which he went on to win the Ballon d'Or -- PSG striker Ousmane Dembele is posting some impressive statistics and could once again be a contender for the most prestigious individual award in the sport.

Dembele, 28, remains a decisive figure in Luis Enrique's PSG. This season, he has missed more time due to minor injuries, but his reduced playing time has not affected his effectiveness, as CulturePSG explains.

The outlet broke down some key statistics in which the Frenchman stands out this season. It turns out that Dembele has a ratio of more than one brace every two matches. In PSG's recent 3-1 victory over Toulouse, Ousmane scored two goals -- including one that could even be a contender for goal of the year.

"In just seven starts, the 2025 Ballon d'Or winner has scored four braces, meaning he's scored twice in 57% of his league starts," the outlet details.

Dembele has also scored 10 goals in Ligue 1, having had 16 shots on target -- meaning nearly two out of every three shots he takes end up in the net. "That's a ratio of 1.94 shots on target per game played, and above all, a goal every 74 minutes in Ligue 1." Staggering numbers.

In the top 20 of the Ligue 1 goalscorers, including Dembele's two goals against Toulouse, the Paris striker boasts the best ratio, ahead of AS Monaco's Ansu Fati (8 goals, one goal every 87 minutes).

The trio leading the Ligue 1 goalscoring charts, however, are far behind: Panichelli of Strasbourg (16 goals) scores one goal every 137 minutes; Greenwood of Marseille (15 goals) one every 134 minutes; and Esteban Lepaul of Rennes (14 goals) one every 146 minutes -- nearly twice as many minutes per goal as PSG's No. 10.

Setting individual statistics aside, there are reasons to believe Dembele will be in contention for the 2026 Ballon d'Or. It is worth noting that the Frenchman continues to compete in the UEFA Champions League with PSG and will feature at the 2026 World Cup with France, where he will almost certainly be a starter for Didier Deschamps' side.

If PSG and France win -- or go deep -- in both the Champions League and the World Cup, and Dembele plays an important role in both, it would be no surprise to see Luis Enrique's favorite striker enter the conversation for multiple individual awards.
