Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen have been named the two most likely destinations for the Manchester United player.

Manchester United have done extremely well since Michael Carrick was handed interim charge of the team. He guided them to four wins on the trot, with three of them coming against traditional Big Six rivals Man City, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. The recent 1-1 draw against West Ham United prevented the club from winning five in a row. It was also a reminder though that there is still a long way to go for this team.

Manchester United might be enjoying a good run of form, but what they need is a team that can perform on a consistent basis. There are still holes in the squad that need to be filled, and some faces that need to be moved on.

The next summer transfer window will provide them with a chance to do that, and it is very likely that it will also spell the end of Jadon Sancho's spell at Manchester United.

Sancho is out of contract at Manchester United in the summer and there is very little chance that he will be handed an extension. On the contrary, it is believed that the club have been trying to find him a permanent exit for some time now but have not been successful in that goal, only managing to engineer loan moves. He is currently at Aston Villa.

Sancho has had an up-and-down spell at Aston Villa. He has found his way into Unai Emery's plans recently though and is getting consistent starts. Will that be enough to earn him a permanent move to the Birmingham club?

According to Sports Boom, Sancho could be playing in the Bundesliga next season unless a Premier League club believe they can revive his career. Neither Manchester United nor Aston Villa appear to be thrilled enough to keep him. So, Borussia Dortmund or Bayer Leverkusen are understood to be the most likely destinations for the Englishman.

It is almost certain that Sancho's spell at Manchester United is coming to an end. He will be out of contract and has never met expectations since his £73 million move from Borussia Dortmund.

At Borussia Dortmund, he was able to establish himself as one of the most exciting young talents in world football though and it is not hard to see why they might be keen to bring him back, especially as a free agent.

On the other hand, Bayer Leverkusen are going through a tough time since Xabi Alonso's departure, alongside several of their key players. So, they need to rebuild the squad, and a proven Bundesliga talent like Sancho on a free transfer would understandably be tempting.

Let's see what the future holds for Sancho. A Bundesliga return seems the most likely route at this point.
