There is an update on the situation of Bryan Mbeumo heading into Manchester United's game against West Ham.

Manchester United fans were left understandably worried after Bryan Mbeumo was seen limping after their win over Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend. The games keep coming thick and fast though, with the next one against West Ham United on Tuesday.

Mbeumo has been one of Manchester United's best performers since his summer move to Old Trafford. He has scored 10 goals this season already, with three of them coming over their last four Premier League outings.

Naturally, Manchester United would want to have Mbeumo available as often as possible, and an injury at this point in time, just when the club are finally starting to find some momentum, would be a disaster.

Fortunately, there is some good news for Manchester United fans when it comes to the situation of Mbeumo.

According to The Standard, Mbeumo is expected to be fit for Manchester United’s Premier League clash against West Ham United. This is because there was no mention of him when Michael Carrick delivered a team news update in the pre-match press conference on Monday afternoon.

Carrick did rule out a couple of players for the game against West Ham though, as the interim manager said: “Mason will be probably not for Tuesday, probably after, but definitely gone into the Everton game, he’ll be back.

"Matta, we'll see how he develops over the, you know… the Everton game feels like a long time away at the moment, so we'll see how he develops, but he's positive, he's moving in the right direction, but Mason's a little bit closer than him."

This has to be taken as a positive when it comes to Mbeumo's fitness. If he had picked up any sort of serious injury, there would have been a mention of that from Carrick.

That being said, this is a long season, and if there is any doubt about Mbeumo's fitness going into the matchup against West Ham United, then he should not start. That would come with the risk of worsening the situation, which is something Manchester United cannot afford.

West Ham United have struggled throughout the season and are in the relegation zone 25 games into the campaign. Man Utd should have enough in the tank to get the better of them, even without Mbeumo.
