Clubless at 33 but still chasing the World Cup dream, Jesse Lingard could be set for a dramatic European return. With Robin van Persie pushing for a Feyenoord reunion, the former Manchester United star may be one move away from rewriting the final chapter of his career.

Jesse Lingard is an English midfielder who is without a club now after finishing his experience in South Korea. Lingard began his career in the youth team of Manchester United and made his debut for the first team in 2015 under Louis van Gaal.

Jesse, in total, made 232 appearances for the Red Devils with 35 goals scored and 21 assists. The midfielder was a key player for the team for a long time, until 2020. Under Solskjaer, the first problems started for the attacking midfielder.

He was sent on loan to West Ham in 2021, where he had great performances and returned again at Manchester United, but still, things didn’t change for him positively. In 2022, his contract expired with the Red Devils, and Lingard signed a contract with Nottingham Forest. Also, things with the new club didn’t go well for him, so he was released by Nottingham at the end of the 2022/2023 season.

After those experiences in the Premier League, the attacking midfielder made a huge decision for his career and life. He decided to change continents and went to South Korea to play for one of the greatest teams there, FC Seoul. His experience in South Korea was very positive, and Jesse became one of the key elements of the team and was loved by the fans.

With the new year coming, it was also made official the fact that Lingard would not renew his contract with Seoul, and so he became a free agent. Now, at 33 years old, Jesse is looking for another opportunity in Europe with the scope to play his chances for the national team called up for the World Cup.

A lot of teams are interested in getting the English attacking midfielder. But one team seems closer to achieving it. Feyenoord is coached by the legend of Manchester United, Robin Van Persie, and he is very interested in signing his former teammate at Manchester United because he thinks his qualities would be very helpful for the team.

It remains to be seen if Lingard would choose an experience in the Netherlands under Van Persie or if he would like to return home to England.
