Manchester United had a busy summer transfer window, revamping their attacking line-up by bringing in Bryan Mbuemo, Benjamin Sesko, and Matheus Cunha. While letting go of players like Antony and Alejandro Garnacho on permanent transfers, and adding the 'supposed' loan moves of Rasmus Hojlund to Napoli and Marcus Rashford to Barcelona.
United also loaned out youngsters Toby Collyer, Harry Amass and Ethan Wheatley during the summr for their further development away from United where they would gain experience and more game time.
The winter transfer window was seemingly marred by the sacking of former manager Ruben Amorin, leading to the appointment of Michael Carrick as United's Interim manager until the end of this season. The club's management is waiting to move in on any transfer targets until a permanent manager is decided before the next campaign starts.
Although has seemingly loaned out another of their young talents during the winter which apparently didn't catch the headlines as Sekou Kone was loaned out to Swiss side Lausanne Sport earlier this month.
Now, according to The Mail (h/t Mirror), the club is concerned about the youngster's situation, as they sent him out on loan for some European exposure in the Conference League. Still, Lausanne recently left Kone out of their squad for the Intercontinental tournament, leaving Man United worried about the player.
The 20-year-old made his debut against Thun during Lausanne's 5-1 defeat in the Swiss Super League, but he was unfortunately left on the reserve bench for the other two games since he made his move in February.
Kone was brought in as a teenager from Malian club Guidars FC in 2024 after his eye catching performances in the under-17 world cup for his country as comparisons with N'Golo Kante were also made at times.
As things stands, the player is unlikely to get any significant game time in his current club for the rest of the season which is definitely a concern for both Kone and United as he only played for the Man United colts up until now and is yet to experience top tier football and amidst all this the Reds are already looking at midfield options in Adam Wharton, Elliot Anderson and Carlos Baleba for the upcoming summer transfer window further worsening Kone's situation.
