Majority of the Manchester United players are of the opinion that the club should renew the contract of their teammate ASAP.

Given the current circumstances at Manchester United, the club would most likely make some major changes in their squad during the summer transfer window before the start of the new season.

With the club yet to decide on who their permanent manager would be after the end of the current campaign, the United management are having a hard time bringing in recruits as they might not match the system of the new manager who could be in charge from the next season.

But in the meantime the club management cannot turn a blind eye to the players whose contracts are set to expire soon and there are already a handful of them, as the contracts of Casemiro, Jadon Sancho, Tyller Malacia and Tom Heaton will expire at the end of this season but all these players are expected to leave the club before 2026/27 with Casemiro already announcing his departure officially.

Harry Maguire is another player who has yet agree upon a contract extension with the Reds, as the time is ticking for both Maguire and United to reach an agreement and it seems Maguire's compatriots are heavily rooting for the defender's contract extension beyond this season.

According to The Sun (h/t Mirror), a major portion of the United dressing room have made their feelings known as the article read, "The players think it would be madness if he was not offered a new deal. Harry has endured plenty of ups and downs at United, but has come through all that and is playing really well.

"He’s very well-respected in the dressing room and is passing on a lot of knowledge to some of the younger players like Ayden Heaven and Leny Yoro. Everyone likes him and respects him and the majority of the players want the club to give him a deal."

After going through a tough couple of seasons under both Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorin, the 32-year-old has seemingly found his rhythm under new interim manager Michael Carrick as he started five games in a row under Carrick and is looking like a pretty important piece in the club's plans during the ending phases of the ongoing season.

Even if it's only for a season, the United management should work on reaching an agreement with Maguire, as the players have also reportedly pointed out not only his role as a leader and a source of learning for the younger players, but also for his contributions in the Reds' defence.
