Goretzka has spent his entire career in Germany, coming up through the ranks at Bochum before making the move to Schalke and then becoming a club legend over the past eight seasons at Bayern Munich.

He is no longer one of the most important players in this Bayern Munich team though, having not started a single Champions League game this season. So, at 30 years of age, it is not hard to see why he might be open to a new experience abroad, especially with top clubs across Europe seemingly interested in signing him.
