This will be very interesting for the fans to the tune in for

On Monday evening, Manchester United will make their maiden visit to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, as they face Everton on Monday Night Football for the final game of Premier League match day 27.

With a win, Michael Carrick's side can rise to fourth in the Premier League. There is a huge opportunity to take advantage of Chelsea dropping points at home to Burnley, whilst narrowing the gap to Aston Villa to just three points, after Unai Emery's side could only draw at home to Leeds United.

There is much anticipation for this game, with it being United's first outing since the 1-1 draw away to West Ham United on the 10th of February, which feels like quite a long time ago.

Well, if there wasn't enough excitement already, then perhaps the TV appearance of one of Carrick's former teammates may entice you. Indeed, as former United keeper Edwin van der Sar is set to appear on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football.

The 55-year-old will appear on the show alongside presenter Dave Jones, as well as regular pundit Jamie Carragher. After the game, once they have analysed the game, they will close the show by talking about van der Sar's career, including his time between the sticks at Old Trafford.

During his time at the club, van der Sar set a world record for the most consecutive minutes without conceding a goal, going 1,311 minutes during the 08/09 season, which is the equivalent of around 14 1/2 full games.

Two years later, months before he retired from football, the Dutchman became the oldest player to register an assist in Premier League history, when his long kick forward set up Wayne Rooney just 48 seconds into a win over Aston Villa. He did so at 40 years and 59 days, a record which still stands today.

After retiring, he became Ajax's marketing director, and then CEO, a role he resigned from in May of 2023. During his time at the Dutch giants, he sold various players to United, including Antony, which could be enough to taint his legacy at the club.

In all seriousness, it shows that he must have been a savvy operator. Or, how desperate United were. After the sale, van der Sar even admitted that Ajax did not need the money for Antony, having made other sales that window, but United ended up providing an offer they could not refuse. Which just sums up Sir Alex Ferguson's recruitment.
