Manchester United had a pretty quiet winter transfer window as they were unable to bring in any recruits since Ruben Amorin was relieved of his duties and Michael Carrick was signed to steer the ship till the end of this season, with the Reds only competing in the Premier League as they crashed out of both the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup before Carrick took charge.
The United management is yet to decide on who their permanent manager would be from next season onwards; as a result, they are unlikely to make any significant signings before they get a blueprint of their plans for the next campaign.
Although this season's results would also be pivotal for the Reds as they carry on their quest for a top-four finish at the end of this season, which would confirm Champions League football for the club inthe 2026/27 campaign, giving a major boost in United's transfer market aspirations.
And as it seems former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has already fuelled the club's targets for the summer transfer window as he recently claimed to aceodds.com (h/t The Real Champs) that the Reds could be in contention to sign Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior before the start of the new season.
The Frenchman made this ambitious claim in the article, saying, "Nothing is too big when Manchester United are playing the way they are. They can attract any big name.
"Vinicius is a Ballon d’Or contender. He's someone who wants to shine, to be in the Champions League, to win individual trophies. I know that."
According to Saha, Carrick's attractive style of play could be a major factor if the Brazilian winger decides on making a move to the Theatre of Dreams, as he said, "This team we’re seeing week in, week out under Carrick, playing very attractive football. It could give a player like Vinícius Jr a completely new platform."
Given Vinicius' current situation at Madrid, Saha's claims cannot be brushed away altogether, as the 25-year-old is yet to sign a contract extension with Los Blancos, as sources claim that the player has been demanding a significant pay hike, on which the negotiations are currently ongoing.
Vinicius was also linked with move to Chelsea recently, where a figure of around €160 million was being floated by various sources which is a reasonably significant amount to invest in one player alone but given the potential quality of Vini Jr., if the player shows desire to dawn the famous Red kit in the upcoming season it is pretty unlikely that the management would hold back any investment for robust forward.
