The setback against Everton last Monday was undoubtedly a big blow to Manchester United hopes and up until the start of the second half it looked like a pretty similar story at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace as the Reds were down to a first half goal scored by Palace's Jean-Philippe Mateta.
United started the second half with intent and got the result in the 54th minute from a Bruno Fernandes free kick which was brilliantly finished from a pretty tight angle by Joshua Zirkzee who scored his first goal since December 2024.
Palace were in no mood to settle for a point as they looked to take the lead once again against the visiting side with a few chances right before United got a free kick close to the penalty box and that also from a pretty dangerous area.
Fernandes again turned out to be the provider as he brilliantly laid the ball for Mason Mount to line up a shot towards the goal which evaded everyone in a pretty weak Crystal Palace wall as goalkeeper Dean Henderson failed to reach the ball.
United held on to the lead and picked up a crucial away victory after a setback against Everton last Monday that also without three of their starters.
According to Manchester World, Ruben Amorin is all set to recieve a major injury boost ahead of United's midweek clash against West Ham at Old Trafford as new signee Matheus Cunha is set to return to the squad after being sidelined for two games owing to a head injury which he picked up during training.
Statistically, the Brazilian forward's start to the season doesn't look good but from a tactical perspective, Cunha has been pivotal to Manchester United's build up play as he provides the much needed support to Bruno being the loan playmaker in the squad.
Another injured player Harry Maguire is also inching closer to match fitness as he is expected to be available against Wolves next weekend although youngster Benjamin Sesko won't be available until mid December.
Casemiro also avoided any booking during the clash against Palace which as a result he would be available for United's next game.
The Reds would like to keep the momentum going and pick up maximum points during their back to fixtures this week against bottom of the table sides West Ham and Wolves before their first team players return to duty.
