Despite injury woes and transfer speculation, Mount remains committed to Old Trafford, determined to prove his worth and secure his Manchester United future.

The England international has no intention of forcing an exit from Old Trafford this summer, despite the difficult period he has experienced since his arrival. Football Insider indicates the midfielder is focused on proving his technical quality to the club's hierarchy and the fans following a season marked more by injuries than by his contributions on the pitch.

Mount is prioritizing his fitness to remain available for the rest of the season. After arriving from Chelsea in 2023 with high expectations, the midfielder is eager to justify the significant investment Manchester United made in his services and finally establish himself as a regular starter.

Last week, it emerged that Aston Villa and Fulham were interested in signing Mount this summer. However, the player reportedly feels unlucky with injuries and wants to keep fighting for his place at Old Trafford.

Both Unai Emery and Marco Silva are reportedly interested in adding the 27-year-old's creativity to their respective squads. However, Mount's firm stance suggests interested parties might have to look elsewhere, as United's summer transfer plans begin to take shape.

United invested £55 million to sign Mount from Chelsea in 2023, but the transfer has yet to yield consistent results. Statistics show a player struggling to find his rhythm, as his development is hindered by recurring physical issues.

The 2025/26 season has followed that disappointing pattern, with Mount playing only 17 Premier League games. This followed a poor previous campaign in which he played only 23 matches in all competitions, leaving United fans waiting to see the best of the Champions League winner.

Mount's main task now is to recover from the injury he suffered late last year. Although he played in early 2026, he logged only 30 minutes across two games before being sidelined again by the same problem.

Interim manager Carrick recently stated that Mount's condition has improved. In comments ahead of the match against Newcastle, which ended in a 2-1 loss for United, he said: "Mason is also recovering, but unfortunately, that's part of the game.

There will always be players out, there will always be players who can't play, but we will keep working as hard as possible to get them back."
