Manchester United are already planning for the summer transfer window, and a rising Newcastle star has caught their attention.

Manchester United started the 2025/26 season with the sole goal of returning to Europe and competing in the next edition of the UEFA Champions League. For this reason, they invested heavily in the last summer transfer market and signed several players to improve the team and finish in the top 4 of the Premier League.

The start of the season under Amorim for the Red Devils was marked by many ups and downs, and for this reason, the club decided to fire the Portuguese coach and hire a former club legend, Michael Carrick. Under his leadership, things seem to have improved for the Red Devils, and they are now inside the top 4. Manchester United is currently third with 54 points, 3 points more than Aston Villa, which is fourth.

The defeat at Newcastle was United's first loss under Carrick.  On the other hand, the club is making plans for the upcoming summer transfer market, which is approaching. They are watching different options and profiles inside and outside the Premier League.

The Red Devils will continue to invest in experienced players, but also in young, talented ones who can be an important investment for today and the future of the club. This policy will also continue in this very close transfer market.

The club's scouts have followed a young, talented left-back from nearby who is part of Newcastle. According to Fichajes, the Red Devils are very interested in Lewis Hall, a very good and talented defender at Newcastle.

Hall came to Newcastle in 2024, and his contract expires in 2029. Until now, the left-back has played 94 matches, scoring 3 goals and making 6 assists. This season, Lewis has played 39 matches, scoring 1 goal and providing 1 assist.

Since he arrived from Chelsea, Hall has become increasingly important to Newcastle, and under Howe, he has grown significantly. The scouts of the Red Devils see at Hall a player who, despite his young age, has significant experience and can play under pressure.

Also, the Red Devils see Lewis as an important investment for the present and the future of the club, as a player who could replace Luke Shaw. In order to secure the services of a player like Hall, the Red Devils should be prepared to make a generous offer for him because there are other important teams interested in the defender, and most importantly, Newcastle isn’t willing to sell their important player so easily.
