Bayern Munich's Midfielder Calls PSG's Vitinha His Favorite Player cover image

Bayern Munich's rising talent reveals his unexpected favorite player. Discover who captivated the young midfielder after a fierce European clash.

An international for Germany for a few months, young Bayern Munich attacking midfielder Tom Bischof declared his full admiration for Vitinha in an interview given to the German press.

Less well-known than Jamal Musiala or Lennart Karl, Tom Bischof (20) is one of the young talents at Bayern Munich, who signed him last summer when his contract with TSG Hoffenheim was expiring.

This versatile left-footer is gradually discovering the big stage after ten years under the colors of the very quiet TSG, and he recently gave an interview to the major German daily newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, one of the most widely read in Germany.

In this interview, where he reveals himself a bit more to the general public, the lesser-known Bischof is notably asked about the best player he has faced, and it is indeed a Paris Saint-Germain player that he named in response: "A few months ago, I would have answered Granit Xhaka (former Bayer Leverkusen midfielder who moved to Southampton). But since our match against PSG, I have to say: Vitinha!"

During the recent PSG vs. Bayern Munich match (1-2), Bischof came on at halftime following the sending-off of Luis Diaz, and he was not very visible, his team spending the second half defending against a Paris Saint-Germain side in which Vitinha was everywhere, which particularly impressed the young Bavarian.

"He directs all of Paris's plays. He is always in motion, he never rests, and he is always available to receive a pass. He is truly a difficult opponent to play against."

A sign of the influence the Portuguese player now has on Bischof, the latter has even outright made the Portuguese player his favorite player. Before adding in response to that question: "And Joshua Kimmich."

Two quite logical choices for a player who states that he "loves players who know in advance what is going to happen. Those who are capable of really reading the game with all its variables, as Toni Kroos did." Three immense midfielders, which says a lot about the stature Vitinha has gained.
