Holder of the No. 14 since his arrival at PSG, after wearing the No. 33 at Rennes, Désiré Doué is eyeing a new, even more prestigious number.
Désiré Doué is an ambitious young man who knows what he wants and where he is going. Winner of a historic sextuple in his first Parisian season, the 20-year-old attacking midfielder is experiencing a slightly more complicated second season at PSG and could start on the bench against Chelsea this Wednesday evening in the Champions League round of 16 first leg. But the former Rennes player remains a talented and valuable player, capable of pulling a match-winning brace out of his hat, as he recently did at Monaco.
Aware of his growing value and apparently eager to protect his image, Désiré Doué filed in August, a few weeks after the Champions League triumph, several trademarks through the company DNM Concept run by his parents. The Golden Boy has thus filed nine trademarks in total with the INPI, the National Institute of Industrial Property.
These trademarks are Dez, Gifted Brothers, Juste Doué, Désiré Doué, Desire Gifted, as well as DD 14, DD 33, DD 24, and above all... DD 10. The act of protecting his initials with a number is not insignificant and obviously makes us think directly of Cristiano Ronaldo, whose CR7 brand is known worldwide.
Doué wears No. 14 at PSG, wore No. 33 at Rennes, and wore No. 24 during his two appearances with the French national team last June. But the fact that he has also filed the DD 10 trademark clearly indicates that he aspires to wear that number one day, which is far from surprising for this big Neymar fan.
For the moment, the French national team's No. 10 is untouchable as it is worn by captain Kylian Mbappé, while PSG's is equally so as it belongs to Ousmane Dembélé. But the 2025 Ballon d'Or winner's contract with PSG expires in 2028, and it is not yet certain that he will extend it.
Désiré Doué has, in any case, already anticipated the move if No. 10 becomes available in the future and comes to him.
