Led after a Zaïre-Emery error exploited by Akliouche, underwater after a Golovin goal immediately upon his entrance, Paris thought they came back on a Barcola goal (71st) but took the third by Balogun right after (73rd).
A few days before hosting Chelsea, PSG signed another rather poor match against a Monaco team as well prepared as during the return playoff.
Five days before facing Chelsea in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16, PSG hosted – at the Parc des Princes – AS Monaco in the opening of the 25th round of Ligue 1.
In front of their supporters, the capital club lost against the Monégasques after failing to find solutions against the Rock Club's low block (1-3). On the Ligue 1+ microphone, Illia Zabarnyi commented on this Parisian setback.
"It's football. Unfortunately, it's a disappointment for our fans. It's true that we hadn't lost at home in Ligue 1. We tried our best; now we'll have to keep our heads up and focus on the next match against Chelsea. Why can't we find a solution against Monaco? It's true that we played many matches against them. We know how to play them; for us, nothing changes. They have a good team, we just need to be more efficient and score."
