Hakimi and Mbaye propel their nations forward! PSG teammates now stand one step from an AFCON showdown.
The two Paris Saint-Germain players involved in AFCON 2025, Moroccan Achraf Hakimi and Senegalese Ibrahim Mbaye, have qualified for the competition's semifinals. And the possible duel between the two could therefore take place soon.
The first part of the AFCON 2025 quarterfinals was played this Friday, and the two PSG players finished their respective matches with a smile. In the late afternoon, Senegal's Ibrahim Mbaye took advantage of a mistake by Mali's goalkeeper to open the scoring by Ndiaye, which ultimately was the only goal of the match.
Morocco, Senegal Advance to AFCON Semifinals, PSG Teammates Could Meet in Final
The PSG winger, a rising star in his country, came on for the final quarter-hour, but his entry was not a success, marked by a warning, poor choices, and questionable ball handling.

Moderately convincing since the start of its tournament, Morocco delivered a coherent and solid performance, highlighted by two goals from its strongest individuals, Brahim Diaz and Ismael Saibari. Achraf Hakimi was again a starter and played the entire match, though not necessarily with the impact he can have when in top form.
With these two victories, the two PSG players are one step away from the final, where they could therefore cross paths.
For its part, Morocco will face the winner of the quarterfinal between Algeria and Nigeria. Senegal will play against the winner of the final quarterfinal between Egypt and the Ivory Coast. The matches are set for next Wednesday.
