Already mentioned last month by a website specializing in Palmeiras, the interest of Paris Saint-Germain in the young Brazilian defensive midfielder, Luis Pacheco, has just been confirmed by a more reliable source.
In a segment for DAZN Football, the famous Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano denied rumors concerning a possible departure of Luis Enrique from PSG.
A rumor was invented by an English X account midweek, which had already been firmly denied by Luis Campos. According to Fabrizio Romano, Luis Enrique is thriving at PSG and is already working on next season with his Portuguese sporting director.
This winter, PSG is not expected to be very active in terms of arrivals, but is therefore already preparing for the next summer transfer window.
In mid-December, a website specializing in Palmeiras mentioned an interest from the Brazilian giant in Lucas Beraldo, who is short of playing time at PSG, and specified that the Parisian club was in turn interested in two prospects from the club based in São Paulo, including a certain Luis Pacheco.
Pacheco, 17, plays as a defensive midfielder and has already played two matches with the Palmeiras first team at the end of 2025. Palmeiras finished second in the Brazilian championship and was runner-up in the Copa Libertadores, losing each time to Flamengo. But it is therefore a very high-performing club currently in Brazil.
According to ESPN's Bruno Andrade, who was very well-informed two years ago on the Lucas Beraldo and Gabriel Moscardo cases, Luis Pacheco "pleases PSG a lot," as he repeated this Thursday during the program No Fala a Fonte, which discusses the Brazilian transfer market.
He did not say much more, but Pacheco will, in any case, not be able to sign in Europe before this summer since he will only be of legal age on Feb. 2, the closing date of the winter transfer window in France.
Under contract with Palmeiras until 2028, with a release clause set at 100 million euros for foreign clubs, Pacheco is in any case a great hope of Brazilian football in his position and has just been promoted to the first team by Abel Ferreira, the Portuguese coach of Palmeiras, who plans to evaluate him and give him playing time during the first half of 2026.
Always playing up in the youth teams at Palmeiras, Pacheco is also a Brazilian U17 international and participated in the last U17 World Cup, won in Qatar by Portugal. Brazil finished 4th, and he participated in 8 matches.
Luis Campos followed several matches of this competition on site and undoubtedly saw the semifinal between Portugal and Brazil (victory for the Portuguese on penalties), during which Pacheco played 90 minutes and converted his penalty. While nothing guarantees that PSG will take action in this case this summer, it is a name to keep in mind for the coming months.
