PSG secures Barcelona's teenage sensation, Dro Fernandez, for four years. The exciting attacking midfielder brings fresh talent to Paris.

Paris Saint-Germain made official this Monday the transfer of Barcelona's young and promising attacking midfielder Pedro "Dro" Fernandez Sarmiento, 18, who has signed until June 2030.

In the works for about ten days, but delayed by negotiations between the two clubs, the transfer of Pedro "Dro" Fernandez Sarmiento to PSG is official.

After considering paying the release clause of the 18-year-old Spanish attacking midfielder, set at €6 million, PSG finally reached an agreement with Barcelona for a transfer estimated between €8 and €8.5 million, Paris not having disclosed the amount as usual.

A way for PSG to avoid further souring relations with the Catalan club, which is, of course, very disappointed to lose its great hope, but also to avoid paying several million euros in taxes and social charges.

PSG Confirms Four-Year Deal For Barcelona's Teenager Dro Fernandez

Dro Fernandez, who shares the same agent as Luis Enrique, has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with PSG, until June 2030. This is the maximum duration allowed in France during the season.

A creative and versatile right-sided midfielder, Dro will offer PSG a new solution in the box-to-box role, as well as on the attacking wings, having also played as a number 10 at Barcelona. Regarding his jersey number at PSG, Dro has chosen 27, as at Barcelona. This number was free in Paris since the departure of Cher Ndour and was worn for many years by Javier Pastore.

“I’m very happy and very proud to be joining Paris Saint-Germain," Dro said. "This is a moment of huge pride for my family and for me. PSG is a massive club that I’ve followed since I was a child, and where some great legends have made history. Right now, I’m hugely excited and motivated to play and to give everything for this shirt."
