In less than 48 hours, Paris Saint-Germain are set to face Inter Milan in the Champions League final at Allianz Arena. The players are ready, the fans are excited, and the stage is set for what could be a historic night for Luis Enrique’s men.
The French capital is also gearing up for the mega matchup in its own way. Selected venues and bars are setting up to display the final, and digital billboards with words of encouragement for the PSG players are being installed.
Recently, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo released an official statement stating that the Eiffel Tower will be illuminated in PSG’s iconic red and blue colours on match day to show support for the team, and will also glow brighter when PSG score a goal. The statement also emphasized that the entire city stands behind the players as they pursue this historic achievement.
PSG will become only the second French team to win the Champions League trophy if they manage to beat Inter Milan. Interestingly, Olympique de Marseille is the only other French club to have won the Champions League, having beaten another Italian side, AC Milan in Munich, back in 1993.
PSG won’t get a much better opportunity than this one. The team is playing at its best, Enrique’s tactics have been spot on, and the fans are believing again. With momentum on their side and history within reach, all PSG fans have their fingers crossed as the team goes head-to-head with Inter Milan in this unforgettable Champions League final on Saturday.
