Even though Paris Saint-Germain got defeated in the FIFA Club World Cup final against Chelsea, there is no denying that the Parisians have been the team to beat this season as they won the UEFA Champions League in some fashion by defeating Inter Milan 5-0 in the final.
The PSG juggernaut also looked unstoppable as they defeated both Lionel Messi's Inter Miami and Real Madrid 4-0 on their way to the CWC final. It was almost certain that PSG will go all the way and lift the trophy in New Jersey but unfortunately they faltered to resilient Chelsea side in the final.
The way this young PSG side has dominated World football this season has been quite exceptional and the club President hasn't shied away from praising this jubilant team in his recent statement released by the club.
PSG President Nasser Al‑Khelaifi prised the side in his statement saying, "This season has been the greatest in the history of Paris Saint-Germain."
He also talked about PSG's Champion League win mentioning that this was the second youngest team to win the coveted European tournament and also the youngest in Paris' history.
Al-Khelaifi thanked the whole PSG fraternity saying, "I wanted to say to the whole Paris Saint-Germain family, Thank You." He also praised the fans saying, "We have the best fans in the World." He also added, "They never stopped singing, never stopped believing, and pushed the team – winning or losing – to the very last minute. I am so proud our fans are an example to all fans – and the celebrations we all shared on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées and in the Parc des Princes in June will remain with us forever."
This statement coming from the PSG President is the mark of a true leader who knows how to motivate his team and makes sure they keep building on last season's achievements and keep on pushing forward for more glory.
This statement will not only work as a motivation for the players but also will definitely motivate the fans who have been exceptional this season.
