Young PSG defender Noham Kamara seals a Ligue 1 loan move with an obligatory purchase option on deadline day.

A few hours before the close of the 2026 winter transfer window, Paris Saint-Germain is close to finalizing the departure of its young central defender Noham Kamara, who is very close to a move within Ligue 1.

The winter transfer window closed at 8 p.m. in France, and PSG was hoping to complete its third departure of January. After Eddy Doue transferred for free to Estrela Amadora (for a sell-on percentage), and Yoram Zague, loaned to KAS Eupen following the termination of his loan to Copenhagen, PSG parted ways with Noham Kamara.

The 19-year-old Parisian central defender, who turned professional last summer and has appeared only once for the first team this season (against Fontenay in the Coupe de France), was closing in on a move to Lyon, according to RMC Sport. Kamara had been reported as close to Leverkusen by several sources last Friday, but this information was quickly denied in Germany.

PSG Confirms Defender Transfer on January Deadline Day

This Monday, RMC Sport reported that Noham Kamara and Lyon have reached a contractual agreement and that PSG and Lyon have an agreement in principle for a loan with an obligatory purchase option. However, some details were remaining to be clarified before a total agreement, and discussions are ongoing according to the radio station.

Hours later, PSG confirmed the transfer of Kamara. "A product of the Paris Saint-Germain academy, Noham Kamara joins Olympique Lyonnais on a loan with an option to buy. Paris Saint-Germain wishes Noham an excellent second half of the season," the club wrote.
