Mathieu Vernice, the referee with a flawless PSG record, takes charge as the Parisians face Auxerre in a crucial Ligue 1 clash.

The LFP has released the names of the referees selected for the 19th matchday of Ligue 1, and Auxerre vs. Paris Saint-Germain will be officiated by Mathieu Vernice, a young man in black with a very positive record for Parisians.

PSG plays again on Friday night in Ligue 1, which is in itself an aberration, and the trip to Auxerre will count for the 19th matchday of Ligue 1, already the second of the second half of the season.

The Auxerre vs. PSG match, sandwiched between two Champions League matches, could play a significant role in the standings. On Saturday night, leader Lens will travel to Marseille for a clash where the loser risks feeling the impact in the standings.

PSG Holds Perfect Record With Referee Vernice Ahead of Auxerre Clash

Needless to say, the referee for this Auxerre vs. PSG match, unbalanced on paper but compensated by the absurd schedule, was awaited, and the FFF has decided to appoint young Mathieu Vernice (32 years old). Despite his relatively young age, he already has good experience in Ligue 1, as he has been at nearly 50 matches since his debut in 2022, after several years in Ligue 2.

For PSG, he is also a referee who brings back good memories with a 100% win rate. In four PSG matches with this referee, Parisians have come out victorious on four occasions: 3-0 and 2-1 against Le Havre, 4-1 at Montpellier, and 4-1 at Rennes last season, with a furious Habib Beye against him at the start of the first Parisian goal scored by Barcola.

On the Auxerre side, Mr. Vernice is also very well known since it's the team he has officiated the most in his career: 15 matches, 7 wins, 4 draws, and 4 losses. But it must be considered that the vast majority of these matches were in Ligue 2. Since both joined the top flight, the record is three matches for one win and two losses.
